Jillian B. and Matt G. are cooped up in East Lansing, Mich., where they live with their three hens, two chicks, a dog and cat. This is their first time urban farming with hens.
Jill, a professional communicator, and Matt, an environmental attorney, added chicks to their yard in Spring 2014. Their grown up girls include an Olive Egger, an Easter Egger and a Golden Laced Wyandotte. In March 2018, Jill picked up two more chicks to add to the flock. The babies are Blue Copper Marans.
Chicken Scratch Fever documents Matt and Jillian’s efforts, from hen house to egg basket.
